| 1▼ | Arrive in Lhasa | Upon arrival in Lhasa, the Sunlit City, our guide or staff will meet you at Lhasa Railway Station or Gonggar Airport with a welcome sign and traditional khata scarf. You will be transferred to a downtown hotel for check-in, rest and altitude acclimatization. FRIENDLY REMINDERS: This day is critical for first-time visitors to Xizang. Lhasa sits at an altitude of approximately 3,650 meters, with oxygen levels at only 65% of inland China. Most travellers will experience altitude sickness to varying degrees. Besides staying calm, avoiding strenuous exercise, drinking plenty of water, eating more fruits and getting sufficient rest are the best ways to prevent altitude sickness. Please contact your guide promptly and seek medical treatment if you feel unwell. Do not wash your hair or take a bath on the night you arrive in Lhasa to avoid catching a cold. Temperatures vary greatly between day and night in Lhasa, so please keep warm to prevent altitude sickness. Hotels in Xizang mostly use solar water heaters. Hot water supply may sometimes be insufficient; we appreciate your understanding. Accommodation standards in Xizang are limited. There may be some differences compared with hotels of the same rating in inland China. Please set your expectations accordingly. | Lhasa, 3★/4★ | / |
